11/12/2007 Division 5 Council Meeting

November 13, 2007

Under the leadership of Lt. governor Colean Bailey, we had an excellent meeting of the Kiwanis Clubs of Division 5. Six of the eight clubs had representatives present. The meeting was held at the Fish Market on Hwy. 280 and will roatate to different areas of the District for convenience sake.

Some of the issues discussed were:

  • Nomination and approval of Colean Bailey serving a second term as Lt. Governor. All present praised Colean’s motivation, enthusiasm and communication. She has helped promote our Division throughout the District and her establishment of the Division 5 Weblog has been a great asset.
  • Brian Rodgers has agreed to serve as Lt. Governor Elect-Elect following Colean’s term, to continue the foundation of communication that she has established.
  • The Division will be participating in a Kiwanis One Day Program on April 5th. More details to come. We hope to have 100+ volunteers working to improve the Rosedale Neighborhood of Homewood.
  • A possible project for the next Kiwanis Year was proposed by the Chelsea Club. This project would involve providing nursing software for the Shelby county School System.
