Great News for District Boy Scout Project

July 18, 2008

International has granted us $1000.00 toward our mission to help restore a building at the Boy Scout Camp in Iowa in memory of Sam Thomsen – grandson on John Burch (Good Morning Montgomery Club.)

This is fantastic news!!! Thus far we have in total $1,425.00 of the $2,000.00 goal. If your club and/or members of your clubs would like to contribute, please bring checks to the District Convention or have them sent to the District office located at 85 Bagby Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209. Please make checks payable to BSA – Mid America Council.

A big thanks to those clubs and members that have already contributed. We are once again, doing great things!

My best,

Colean

New Addition- Google Calendar

July 13, 2008

Bookmark This Link to see the most current version of the Kiwanis Calendar. This will be updated to include upcoming speakers, social events, service projects, and conventions. This will replace the Trumba Calendar, which has drastically increased their price structure. The one feature they do not have on Google Calendar is the weekly email update, but I will be doing this manually.

Please give me your feedback and let me know if you would like to help as an editor for either the weblog or the calendar. -Brian

Help Wanted

July 13, 2008

I am looking for a few people to help with weblog postings and Google calendar updates with upcoming service projects. All committee chairs will have access to the calendar to add speakers, service projects, social opportunities, interclubs, etc.  I will have a thorough training for this… though it is very easy and requires no technical knowledge- just an active internet connection. Please let me know if you would like to help and I will give you access as an editor.  Brian  brianrodgers@gmail.com
